Beginning in May 2009 Italy has deported hundreds of refugees from the Horn of Africa to Libya. Over two thousand are trapped in the Libyan war without any protection.

People wandered like phantoms. around people was silence, inside the heads was silence”. The night of 6th April 2009 a violent eartquake devastated one of the most beautiful italian cities, and it’s territory, gifted of a unique artistic and natural heritage.

Stromboli has a deep relationship with the history of cinema: since 1949, when “Stromboli, land of God” by Roberto Rossellini with Ingrid Bergman he was shot, the island has been visited by many traveling filmmakers. Hence the project of a Museum of Cinema, an ideal place for the cinematographic memory of the island.
